aBOUT tHE ANTHEMS.

The Anthems are a four-piece covers band from South East London.  They play the tunes you want to hear after a tough day at work. The guys have extensive band experience and have played at major venues including some well-known festivals so they know what gets the crowd going. The Anthems and this fusion has produced a super-tight band with a passion and will produce the big-hook, big riff songs which audiences love.  There are no ‘filler’ songs to the band’s repertoire, just ‘killer’ songs time and again.

There is plenty of sweat, passion and energy which have come to characterise the band’s live performances.  If you’re an audience member at an Anthems’ gig, you may have thought that you’d simply turned up to see a band play, but stand by to be on the receiving end of ‘an event’: guaranteed you’ll be dancing and singing along to the anthemic choice of songs.  No warming up with these guys just bang and you are straight in.

Frontman, Lee Speirs, knows how to work the crowd whilst Lead Guitar (Mike), Bass Guitar (John) and Drums (Paul) drive out the big sound. All genres covered. there’s a brit pop twist, a punky edge, a soulful side and a driving rock side…. Totally unafraid to take a big, singalong song and make the crowd their 5th member of the band. The Anthems create something new from classics which have gone before. Good nights out all round, don’t miss it!!
